I have been reading the book Wisdom of the Century to my husband, who has dementia. I read several pages to him every night. Each time I would end a page,
he would say, "Read another one." We read, we cried, and we connected beyond my husband's dementia and my ongoing fears.
I asked what his favorite thing about the book was. "The wisdom," he said. I asked him what wisdom he would pass down, and he told me he would tell me in the morning. The following morning, he said his love for his family was the wisdom he wanted to pass down.
The time my husband and I spent together reading Wisdom of the Century has been precious. It's almost like floating somewhere, past time and space, remembering our love and finding courage. This book is a blessing.

Our intention
Our intention with the Wisdom of the Century project is to learn from the experiences and teachings of 90 people over the age of 90 in Florida—capturing their wisdom for future generations in a legacy photo book.
Many of the 90 nonagenarians and centenarians we interviewed immigrated from 20 countries, most of whom settled in Miami-Dade County. Their careers varied greatly: inventors, authors, artists, musicians, physicians, clergy, police officers, homemakers, and more—some surviving the Holocaust.
Wisdom of the Century shares lessons from a generation that has experienced wars, pandemics, economic and social collapse, political upheavals, poverty and success, immigration, and the exponential development of technology—changes they could not even imagine a century ago.
Through sharing their stories, we connect readers to a resilient generation, offering an opportunity to reflect upon their own lives and the legacies they leave in the hearts of those they touch.
